*Angela grins to the wide audience*
“Hi. I recently had a breakthrough I wanted to share with all of you regarding my sense of humor.”
“Or lack thereof.”
“Shut up, Bergen.”
Angela returns to the audience
As you see I have what some would call a “sense of humor”.
For me, humor has always been a mystery. I have spent years trying to understand it and delved deeply into philosophy to try to understand it.”
“Oh Goooooooood.”
“Shut up, Bergen!” Angela smiles. “For many years, I simply assumed I had no humor. Until, one day, a friend shed some light onto this topic for me. He described my humor as being “dry”. This, I think, is where the disconnect comes in. My family (I do love them) does not “get” dry humor. So, I simply assumed I wasn’t funny.”
Bergen begins playing violin music on my iPod behind me. “None But The Lonely Heart”, if you want to know.
“I grew up laughing alone never quite knowing, what was wrong with me. I alone adored the snippets of humor in Monty Python and giggled myself senseless over ever line delivered by Partick Wharburton. Sarcasm, was an entirely different story. Alas, to this day, I do not comprehend sarcasm at all. I was holding up “sarcasm” signs long before Sheldon Cooper came around. I used to write them up and pass them out to my co-workers 🙂 Nicholas Haskins can attest to this.
“OH MY GOOOOD, WOMAN! WHO CARES!?”
