The Norse warrior grins in a manner that seems too inviting to trust. “I doubt you know me because… well… my author has grossly neglected me.” Bergen strikes a match that sends a cloud of orange light billowing around his dark face.
“But I’m fine with it. I’m a big boy,” he says as he brings the match to his long pipe. After a moment, Bergen shakes the fire from the match and, taking a long draw, he sits back in Angela’s chair and releases a slow, stream of smoke from his mouth.
“You see, Angela is too busy ‘fixing Kallan’s story’ to bother with my story. Granted, Dolor and Shadow comes before mine, but Kallan’s had enough of the author’s attention already.”
His smile is gone and he takes another draw. “So, while she’s off playing with her little friends and spending more time on Kallan, I’ve decided to take the matter into my own hands. I can write. I know where all the letters go and in what order. So I figured, hey! I’ll write it!”
Bergen shifts in the chair and drops his large boot onto Angela’s computer tower.
“So while I have you here I’ll summarize things for you. This is the home page where you can catch news, updates, and well,” Bergen flashes you his grin, “Me. Angela has a mailing list and she welcomes you to sign up. Once a month she sends out a newsletter that updates her subscribers on Dolor and Shadow’s progress, due to release April 2015. If you want to know when her book is available for pre-order, there is where you’ll want to go. She has an “About” page I had to modify because, once again, Angela failed to mention me.” Bergen pauses for another, long draw from his pipe, and releases the smoke slowly into the air.
“Oh yeah, Angela and Kallan are there too. “My Prose” offers excerpts and writing samples of Angela’s work. She has poetry and some other stuff that has nothing to do with me there, so I really don’t want to talk about it. And then there’s my blog!”
Bergen grins proudly as if he was the sole inventor of The Blog. “The Blog is the one spot I’ve claimed for myself!” He shrugs. “I’m a Viking Raider, what did you expect?”
“Feel free to leave comments where the urge strikes you, or send me (or Angela) an email via the Contacts page if there’s something you wish to get off your chest.”
Bergen kicks off of Angela’s Computer tower and stands.
“So that’s it really. Go ahead and have a poke around… and,” Bergen leans in closer and winks. “Feel free to trash the place a little before you leave.”
