Oh my Odin!! Beautiful review of Dolor and Shadow!

 

This story takes time to build, but it easily fulfills the promises made in the first few pages. The characters come to life in stunning detail, evolving through the course of the story, shaped by their actions, and the actions of those around them.
Between work and my own writing, I find it hard to dedicate much time to reading, but this was one of those books that I had a hard time putting down. I found myself turning page after page, and wanting to read just one more chapter before bed… The level of detail in the background characters, the lands themselves, and the mythology keeps you wanting to read more. This is the kind of epic story that “Lord of the Rings” wanted to be, but with the balance between plot and background balanced just right.
