This is my little holiday favorite! I take one week off and dive back into cooking!
This is my homemade Cranberry sauce. I discovered this recipe and haven’t eaten cranberry sauce from a can since.
Cranberry Sauce
In a saucepan, boil down:
- 1 pound whole cranberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp “spiced” mixture (see below)
Boil down until “jelly” consistence appears on spoon then low simmer for ten minutes. Serves 20
Spice Mixture:
Combine in a separate bowl:
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
Add 1 tsp of spice mixture to the cranberry sauce.
I use this ratio for sugar cookies, raisin cookies, pies, breads… I throw it into almost everything this time of the year.
And now! My eggnog! I’ll have to add that one later. 🙂 The recipe is down stairs.
