I just received this update from Agent X.
Hi Angela,
Thanks so much for your patience and for sharing DOLOR AND SHADOW with me. I just got a chance to take a peek. Although I love the concept and think your authorial voice serves the adult fantasy audience very well, I’m just not connecting enough with the project to think I would be the best suited agent for it. I really hope you’ll continue querying the project, and wish you much success with your publishing career.
Warmly,
[Agent X]
I feel good. Not discouraged or sad. Just…”okay”…back to work. My goal is to send out 9 to 12 additional queries over the next two days. In addition to this, Agent Y has requested a partial on Lorlenalin’s Lies. He is reading the first 50 pages with the outline. *fingers crossed* I really like this guy! He’s as big a nerd as I am!
Between both agents, I am averaging 1 out of every 12 agents are asking to see more of my work. With two more queries, I should get one more interested. So I need to send out a division of 12. Something to keep in mind while I query. I am worried that I’ll run out of epic fantasy agents before any of them sign on to represent. I’m not sure if that’s silly or not of me.
Oh, well.
Once more into the breech, dear friends!
