My favorite thing about being a writer are the millions of “books” my children have written for me. This was one my son wrote today called “Hope.”

 

 

I turned the page and read in an Iron-Man-is-better-than-Batman voice:

 

“Mom’s been gone for a long time,” my little sister Elizabeth said.

“She sure has,” I, Daniel, responded. Now let me tell you about my family. I have two sisters. A sister is older, and the other is younger. The older one is Emily. She is twelve. My parents left at 6:00 P.M. I am eleven.
