Story Time Live

Introduction

Perhaps you grew up hearing your parents read to you before bedtime. Perhaps you listened to your spouse read or maybe you enjoy a good audio book on your way to work. Perhaps you never had someone read to you and you crave it (like me). Whatever your reason, you are needing a moment away with a book. Welcome to Story Time.

The concept is quite simple. I love being read to and, although I enjoy reading to my children, I wish I had someone to read to me. So I am reading to me and I figured, other adults out there want to be read to too 🙂

Magic-Price (The Crown of Stones Book #1) by C.L. Schneider

Ian Troy is one of the Shinree, a fallen people with an inherent addiction to magic. Scorned and reviled for the deadly side of their spells, the Shinree are bred as slaves. Their magic is suppressed by drugs and used only as it serves the purposes of the other races.

Descended from a long line of soldiers, Ian is conscripted into the Rellan army and made to fight in their longstanding conflict against the ruthless Langorian invaders. The downfall of Rella imminent, Ian goes against orders and turns to the Crown of Stones, an ancient Shinree relic of untold power. Ignorant of its true purpose, Ian uses the crown to end the war, and pays a terrible price.

A decade later, still tortured by the aftermath of that day, Ian lives as a bounty hunter in self-imposed exile. Having renounced his magical heritage, he curbs his obsession with a steady stream of wine and regret. He struggles to put it all behind him, until a fateful encounter with a pretty assassin brings Ian’s past crashing into the present. Targeted by a rogue Shinree, and a ruthless old enemy, Ian is forced to use magic again. His deadly addiction is rekindled and his life of isolation is brought to a swift end.

With the land he gave up everything to protect once more in jeopardy, and his people’s future at stake, Ian becomes embroiled in a violent race for control of the Crown of Stones. To save the realms and those he cares for, Ian must embrace the thing he fears most: his own power.

Magic-Price is the first installment in The Crown of Stones trilogy.

Whatever I feel like. I do have a list and will probably consult that list. The list is posted on this page under “What books have been approved for reading.”

Can I request a book?

Yes, but I consult my TBR list when selecting a next read and will consider any recommendations. But ultimately, if it is not on my TBR and if it is not approved by the author, then no. I most likely will not read it.

What book will you read next?

You can view the schedule on this page. When I announce my next read, I post the playlist so it’s ready to go!

What genres will you be reading?

Mostly Fantasy. Some Science Fiction. Maybe some romance (I do not read anything that will make you or I blush). Definitely some classics that are not held under copyright laws due to their age like Beowulf. I would love to read Beowulf! or Shakespeare! Candide! Oooooh!

How often do you upload a new chapter?

Story Time is live! 1:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday, you can catch Story Time Live right here as well as on YouTube and Google+. The links will be posted here. Just stop in at 1:00 PM EST to catch the next chapter. I do not post on weekends.

Will you read my book?

I am open to suggestions, but I prefer hand selecting my next read from my TBR list. If your book is on my TBR list, then I will be contacting you, the author, for rights.

Will you read Harry Potter, The Hobbit, or Game of Thrones?

No. Not unless you can get a hold of the authors and have them email me with approval. Legally, I can not. Sorry. It makes me sad too. I can read classics with expired copyrights! If you have one in mind, consult this list, confirm it has an expired copyright, and email your request to [email protected] I have The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux slotted to read!
